Howe Dorothy L. Tuesday May 25th aged 90,
passed away peacefully in the
nursing home close to her original family home in Ballymena, Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland.
A former headmistress of
Charters Towers School,
Old Hastings Road, Bexhill, 1971 - 1986.
During the last two years with increasing Dementia she met each day with contentment, enlivened with characteristic spirit and humour.

I will always value my time at Charters Towers under your great Care Miss Howe. You taught me friendship, an international spirit, community and resilience and have enabled me to become a Doctor and my Twin an Abassador and Patron for charities and Health. We will never forget you.

My four girls were each fashioned by your guidance, kindness and generosity of spirit. The four have achieved remarkable lives thanks to Dorothy Howe and her Staff at Charters Towers School during the 1970s.
