Doug Shoemake HARTSVILLE - Funeral services for Douglas "Doug" McIver Shoemake, 62, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at Antioch Baptist Church. The Revs. John Helms and Luis Gargiulo will officiate with burial in Westview Memorial Park Cemetery directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 25, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Shoemake died Sunday, August 23, 2009. Born in Hartsville, SC, he was a son of the late Melvin William and Molly Purdue Shoemake. He was a member of Sandy Grove United Methodist Church in Bethune. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, horseback riding, fishing and being with family and friends. Surviving are his wife, Julia Webster Shoemake of Bethune, SC; son, Bob Bradshaw of Spartanburg, SC; daughters, Tonya Watford of Sumter, SC, Valerie (Andrew) Boucher of Raleigh, NC, Diane (Todd) Purvis of Hartsville, SC; sisters, Joyce Faye (Rusty) Thompson of Rock Hill, SC, Katherine Dixon of Hartsville, SC, Bessie Dixon of Hartsville, SC, Edna McElveen of Sanford, NC; daughter-in-law, Sheila Shoemake of Hartsville, SC; grandchildren, Art Shoe-make, Arden Shoemake, Hunter Disbrow, Courtney Disbrow, Joshua Guevara, Amanda Boucher, Tyler Guevara, Kaitlyn Boat-wright, Phillip Purvis, Hannah Purvis, Alex Bradshaw. He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas M. Shoemake; brothers, Buck Shoemake and Frank Shoemake. www.bpafuneralhome.com
