Doug was an active leader in the international Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles and served for a long time as Publications Secretary and Treasurer. He was an outstanding and highly valued officer. He is being featured in the society's new history being published in 2024, for which his portrait is needed. Kraig Adler (Cornell University).

I was saddened to learn of Doug's passing. We worked together on many research projects at Notre Dame and later at Cornell. He was a wonderful colleague, dependable, hardworking, and bright. He was also highly personable and it was a pleasure to know him and Betty.

Betty, you and your family are in my prayers. Please take care of yourself. I saw that Doug, like Bob, was born in Dec. and they both died in Feb. I know Bob is greeting Doug with a good Camden welcome. Kayo
