Services for Eddie Ray Arrington, 55, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, at Rosser Funeral Home. The Rev. David DenHartog will officiate.

Eddie passed away in Fort Worth on June 20, 2008, after a lengthy battle with multiple myeloma. He was born July 8, 1952, in Pensacola, Fla., to Clifford and Edna Arrington. Eddie was a 1970 graduate of Cleburne High School and attended Southwestern University at Georgetown, Texas, on a full golf scholarship. He owned and operated Arrington Roofing and Remodeling in Fort Worth, Texas, for 10 years.

Eddie is survived by his mother, Edna Hanks of Cleburne; father and stepmother, Clifford and Carole Arrington of Ruston, La.; brother, Chris Arrington of Cleburne; sisters, Velecia Chance and husband, James, of Cleburne, and Rhonda Arrington of Euless; stepsister, Carole Anne Stanton and husband, Brad, of Bonham; daughter, Stephanie Mooring of Euless; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by an aunt, uncle and numerous friends.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Courtyards of Fort Worth, and the Community Hospice for their care of Eddie throughout his illness.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. Information about the Foundation can be found at www.themmrf.org, or for donations, by telephone at 203-652-0234.

It is with sadness that I write this goodbye to Eddie. We were classmates in C.H.S & graduated in 1970. I always considered Eddie my friend, although I have not heard from him since we got out of school so many years ago now! I'm so sorry to hear of this sad news, I'd rather it would've been at a happy occasion! He was always good for a laugh & a kind word in school & that is how I will always remember him & with him riding that Vespa scooter around town!! LOL! He was truly a good guy & I'm blessed to have known him! Tolbert Parnell

I am very sorry to hear about Eddie. I will always remember him as being the big brother to all us cousins. I know that he is at peace now and in no more pain. My heart and prayers go out to all you there. Love you!!
