Eddie Threadgill Obituary

Kenneth Edward "Eddie" Threadgill, 61, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on June 21, 2025. He was born on September 21, 1963 in Cowpens, South Carolina and resided in Florida for the past 38 years. Eddie graduated from Broome High School in 1981 and then enlisted in The United States Marine Corps. He was a hard worker who was skilled in construction and landscaping. Known affectionately as "Florida Grandpa" to his 3 living grandsons, he enjoyed building and fixing things with the boys and taking them fishing and tubing. Eddie's love for the water was evident to all who knew him- it is where he found peace and joy. Eddie leaves behind his daughter, Amanda (Jacob) Kovach; grandsons, Lemuel, George and James Kovach; sister, Christie (Nathan) Groff; nieces, Hope (Noah) Emmons and Ella Groff; and nephews, Jackson and Mitchell Groff. He is preceded in death by his sister, Denise Threadgill; father, Joe Threadgill; brother, David Threadgill; grandson, Levi Kovach; and mother, Judy Messer. Eddie's presence will be missed by those who shared in his passions and his company.

A memorial service will be held at 351 Goldmine Rd. Spartanburg, SC (down by the river) on Saturday, July 19 at 11am. Lunch to follow.

Eddie did various jobs for us for years around our house. During that time we grew to respect him and like him very much. We were so sorry to hear of his passing. He was a good man, and we will miss him.

I miss Eddie already. He was such a support dealing with house issues, dock, storm, boat issues too. He was there for us whenever needed.

I´m so sad to hear of Eddie´s passing.
Eddie had great ideas in Landscaping,
Never disappointed me. Eddie the Handy
man could fix anything. Eddie was so dependable and love talking Politics with him.

Eddie worked at our house for two years fixing all the things I could not or just didn´t want to do. The dude could do just about anything. I´m so honored to have learned a great deal about how to approach things that simply needed to be done. However, he did hate painting, and he told me, so I did the painting. He was a genuinely nice person that I was proud to know. I´ll see you in heaven Eddie and we will ride again in the speedboat.
