Edgar Hunt Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 27, 2025.
Edgar Hunt, 92, Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, and Veteran, Passes Away

Edgar Hunt, 92, of Coral Springs, FL, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025. A devoted husband, proud father, and decorated veteran, Edgar lived a remarkable life filled with service, strength, and deep love for his family, friends, and his loyal four-legged companion, Sandy.

Edgar was married to his beloved wife, Jan, for 40 wonderful years. He was the cherished father of Byram, Bruce, and Bradley; loving father-in-law to Adria, Dor'Chaune', and Stacie; and a devoted stepfather to Brian. He took immense pride in his ever-growing family.

He was a treasured grandfather to Brittany, Kyle, Alexandria, Nicholas, Ashlei, Alyssa, Aysha, Tahzhe, Christian, Angeni, Olivia, Gia, Laila and Morgan. He was also blessed with 13 great-grandchildren: Amirah, Mila, Summer, Versai, Khilee, Karsyn, Xaiyr, Xeloura, Camille, Cameron, Nina, Cyrus and Sadia.

Edgar is survived by his sisters Linda and Mildred; his brother Arthur and sister-in-law Marie; and brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Lynda, Jay, Lisa, and Sal. He was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews and a loyal friend to many.

Edgar proudly served 20 years in the United States Air Force, followed by a distinguished 26-year career with the Manalapan, NJ Police Department, retiring with honor as a Captain. His commitment to service-both military and civic-earned him the admiration and respect of all who knew him.

Outside of duty, Edgar found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved golfing, had a sharp sense of style, and was always up for a good laugh-especially while "cutting up" with the neighborhood boys. His faithful dog, Sandy, was never far from his side, a constant companion and friend.

Edgar Hunt leaves behind a powerful legacy of dedication, humor, loyalty, and love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those whose lives he touched.

A celebration of Edgar's life will be announced by the family at a later date.

I worked with Ed for the HOA of our small city for a number of years until he retired, he helped all the residents with any problem they had. I learned great amount of useful information when we use to talk on his driveway in the afternoon. Thank you for being my friend.
