Edna Williams Obituary
Edna was born on May 14, 1945, to the late Elisha and Corine Phillips. She was a woman of strength, wisdom, and boundless love, touching the lives of many with her kindness and unwavering dedication to her family.
Edna dedicated 16 years of her life working as a cook at Buffington Harbor Riverboat Casino, where she was known for her hard work, delicious meals, and warm spirit. She took pride in her work and brought joy to many through her cooking.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her five children: Marinda Pippins of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, Noah (Angela) Williams Jr. of Merrillville, Indiana, Tannette Williams of Gary, Indiana, Antwaine Williams of Saint Paul, Minnesota, and LaDonna Williams of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Edna was also blessed with a large and loving family, including 48 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren, who will forever hold her in their hearts.
She is also survived by her brothers Columbus Phillips, Billy Phillips, Jeffery Phillips, and Mathis Phillips, and her sisters Katie Black, Mary Clinton, and Beatrice Phillips.
Edna was preceded in death by her beloved son Ricky Williams, her parents Elisha and Corine Phillips, her brothers Willie Phillips and Elisha Phillips Jr., and her sisters Barbra Phillips and Joanie Phillips.
Her presence brought joy and warmth to those around her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
A celebration of Edna's life will be held Monday March 24, 2025 Wake 9:00 a.m. Funeral Service: 11:00a.m. at Holy Bethel Missionary Baptist Church 810 W. 8th Ave, Gary, IN 46402.
The repast will follow the services at 1845 W. 37th Ave, Gary, IN. Family and friends will gather to honor her remarkable journey and the love she so freely gave. The Williams Family Thanks You.
