Edward Gall, Jr. passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2004 in Sun City, Arizona.He was born on August 13, 1917 and raised at Burnstad, North Dakota. He attended school in Logan County and was a graduate of Moler Barber College in Fargo, North Dakota. Eddie served his country in the Navy during World War II and was an owner and operator of seven barber shops and five beauty shops including the Grand Barber and Beauty World in Fargo, North Dakota.He was National Educational Council Supervisor for the Associated Master Barbers and Beauticians of America for 30 years. He was Past President of the North Dakota Barbers' Association, active in state legislation and started the Past President's Club of the North Dakota Barbers' Association. He also founded a scholarship fund for a barber's son or daughter, qualified to receive this scholarship, to a college of their choice. He was North Dakota Barber of the year in 1968 and in 1969 the upper Mid-West Barber of the year including seven states. He received the highest honor of "National Barber of the Year" in 1970 and is listed in "Who's Who" in Men's hairstyling. He also had his life story written-up in "Binford's Guide".He was a member of the Masons and El Zagal Shrine, Fargo, North Dakota and was treasurer of the Ritualistic Divan in 1978. He was a member of the Eagles Club, the American Legion for 59 years and a life member of the of the Elks Club. Eddie was also a member of the Fargo Country Club and active in the Fargo Rotary Club for 38 years and the YMCA for 30 years.Eddie was a member of the Fargo Plymouth Congregational Church, sang in the choir and served on many committees. He was also a member of the Church of the Palms in Sun City, Arizona.He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Sr. and Pauline, and a brother Ervin. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Loretta (Dick); his daughter Renee Kay Piltingsrud (Mark), his son E. Daniel Gall III (Joy), four loving grandchildren: Andrew Gall, Danelle Gall, Matthew Gall and Danaka Piltingsrud Olsen (Peter), and three brothers: Arthur (Jane), Leo (Bella), and Noyal (Cheryl).Funeral services were held on Sunday, January 25, 2004 at The Church of the Palms in Sun City, Arizona.Memorials may be sent to the Church of the Palms,. 14808 Boswell Boulevard, Sun City, Arizona 85351, Sun Health Foundation, Alzheimer's Research, P.O. We will miss Eddy. He was always so friendly ... always had a smile for us. We enjoyed reading his obit. Such a busy and contributing man! He will be missed by so many friends, but we all celebrate his life.
