Eleanor Powell Obituary
Born in Taylor, she was the daughter of the late Evan Davis. She was a graduate of Taylor High School. After her marriage, she and her husband resided in West Scranton and spent their summers at Lake Sheridan.
Eleanor was a loving mother and grandmother, and was greatly loved by all who knew her and will be missed by everyone.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Kay Carpenetti and husband, Dave of Nicholson; a son, Jack and wife, Cathy of Scranton; grandchildren, Blake Powell, Scranton; Edward Nowakowski, Jacksonville, Fla.; Sara Nowakowski, Scranton; Marisa Highlands, East Greenville; and Eric Adamski, Virginia Beach, Va.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Davis; and her cousin, Marion Koontz, who was like a sister to her.
The funeral will be Friday at 10 a.m. from the Jacob Davis Funeral Home, 422 S. Main St., Taylor, with services by the Rev. Art Davis. Interment will be at Milwaukee Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to John Hopkins Medical Center, Pulmonary Department, 600 N. Wolfe St., Baltimore, MD 21287.
