Elizabeth M. Hoag

Elizabeth Mary "Betty" (Fulton) Hoag, 91, of Mt Lebanon, formerly of Upper St. Clair, passed away Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, surrounded by her loving family at her home. Betty was the loving wife of 65 years to the late William R. Hoag; beloved mother of William Jr., Robert (Catherine) II, Thomas (Judy), Richard (Carole) and Michael (Susan); cherished grandmother of Robert III (Kate), Christine, Theodore (Elissa), Ava, Marra, Bethany Salmen (Kenneth), Caroline, Kimberly, Megan, Amy and Wade; caring great-grandmother of Robert IV, Starla, Natalie Salmen and Theo; devoted and loving sister-in-law to Mary Alice Harrison and the late Edith Hires-Siegfried and Catherine "Sissy" McGowan; and is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Betty was known for her resilient compassion and constant dedication; most importantly to her husband, Bill. She was a lifelong member at South Hills Country Club, a member of 21st Century Club and Women's Western Golf Association. "Steady" Betty was an avid golfer and proudly accomplished two hole-in-ones during her golf career. In her lifetime, she enjoyed traveling, crafting with her granddaughters, taking pictures of her family and spending time on Sanibel Island, Fla. She will be remembered by her unique sense of humor, love of New Jersey Shore saltwater taffy, unwavering generosity and her stunning elegance and classic beauty. Funeral arrangements are by BEINHAUERS. Friends are welcome from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, 724-941-3211, where a service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday. Entombment will be in Jefferson Memorial Park.
