Elizabeth Weise Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 1, 2014.
Weise, Elizabeth Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Weise went to be with her Lord on May 30, 2014, at the age of 93. Betty was born on December 1, 1921 in Whitefish Bay, the fourth of six children to Dr. John T. Klein and Mary (McSweeney) Klein. Dr. Klein founded the Milwaukee Burn Center at St. Mary's Hospital in 1954. Betty attended Holy Angles High School and continued her education at the University of Wisconsin where she met her future husband, Paul Carl Weise. Paul and Betty were married in Boston, February 1, 1945. Betty was a homemaker active at St. Robert's Parish as a member of the Altar Society and Sisters of Charity. She served in the Shorewood Women's Club and its Thrift Shop. For many years, Betty was a Girl Scout leader who enthusiastically supported her daughters in scouting. Betty was known by all for her gregarious, generous, and cheerful spirit. She was a loving and devoted mother to her seven children, all of who attended Atwater Grade School and Shorewood High School. Betty is survived by her seven children and their spouses; Jane (Jack) Tankersley, Mary Beth (the late Woody) Baskerville, Donna (Dennis) Pehoski, Patricia (Fred) Michalski, Pamela (Oliver) Parr, Paul (Muffie) Weise, Jr., John (Cynthia) Weise, sixteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 10, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Feerick Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 11, at 11:00 AM at St. Robert Catholic Church, corner of East Capitol Drive and North Farwell Avenue, Shorewood, followed by entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations may be made in Betty's memory to the Milwaukee Burn Center of St. Mary's Hospital, 2301 N. Please accept my sympathy and love. Your mom, my Aunt Betty, was a wonderful woman and the best aunt a girl could ever have. Warm memories of her will always have a special place in my heart.

Betty Weise lived at Milwaukee Catholic Home for approximately twelve years and we will miss her incredibly. She lived in the Residence for four years and during that time Paul and Muffie brought over baskets full of puppies for our residents to hold and cuddle. We talked about that for months afterwards and then they brought them back (again in baskets) so we could see how much they'd grown and watch them frolic on our patio. Betty was the Queen Bee of those moments and her sweet smile never left her face! God bless her. She is in the thoughts and prayers of all of us at Milwaukee Catholic Home.

I remember Mrs. Weise cooking lunch and dinner every day.
Mrs. Weise was always quick with a hamburger and a smile no matter how difficult her own life may have been at the time.

Betty Weise was an impressive woman.
She was strong when her family was in crisis and always sweet and kind to everyone she had contact with.

I will always love and admire Betty Weise.
She was one of the sweetest people I have ever met.
