Ellie Grace Cooper, age 93, died Monday, July 12, 2010 at Baptist Memorial Hospital- Memphis. Services will be held Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Chuck Fowler officiating, burial will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Cooper was born on Friday, January 12, 1917 in Pickens County, AL to the late Bob and Addie Donahue Richardson. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, and had worked for Seminole Manufacturing and American Bosch. She was well known for her handmade quilts that her family treasure. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sons, Murray Lindsey, Sam, James, and Henry Cooper. Survivors include one daughter, Mabel Wilson, Southaven, MS; one son, John Cooper (Judy), Oxford, MS; one brother, J.W. Richardson, Columbus, MS; 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews who she dearly loved.
