Elsie Digneo Obituary
Astoria - Elsie K. Digneo, a former longtime resident of Beacon, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2015 at Mount Sinai Queens Hospital. She was 89 years old.
Elsie was born in New York City on May 21, 1926 the daughter of the late Harry and Anna Sochan Galecki. Elsie married Augustine Digneo. Mr. Digneo predeceased Elsie in 2006.
Elsie is survived by her sons, Augustine Digneo, Jr. and his wife, Miriam of Astoria, NY and Robert Digneo and his wife, Melissa of Myrtle Beach, SC; her grandchildren, Tiffany Digneo, Augustine Digneo, III and Shannon Digneo; her great grandchildren, Mirella Digneo and Maxxum Digneo; her sister, Sandra Riker of San Francisco; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Elsie was predeceased by her brother, Alex Galecki and her sister, Stella Krevokcan.
The family will receive their friends on Thursday, June 18, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon. A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Joachim Cemetery, Beacon.
