Eric McConnell, 30, died on May 22, 2020 due to a tragic motorcycle accident. Eric was born March 3, 1990 in Anderson where he resided his whole life. He always talked about moving away but the love he had for his family kept him here. He lived his life to the fullest and always with a smile on his face. Eric's favorite things in life were riding his motorcycle, getting as many tattoos as his body could hold, fishing, golfing, dancing, drinking beer, being with his family and making everyone smile. He was always the life of the party and lived life to the fullest without judgement. He always stayed true to himself. Eric loved his family with his entire heart and nothing less. He said that his dad was his best friend and Frank felt the same way. He leaned on his mom for advice and was proud of what good mom's his sisters were. Eric started his work life at Hoosier Park at the age of 16. He loved his job and made many memories and lifelong friends. He left Hoosier Park after 10 years and went on to work at Precision Strip where he felt he started an actual career. He went through leadership training, received promotions and took much pride in what he did. Eric is survived by his parents, Frank and Amy McConnell; Sister Molly McIntyre and her husband Alex; Twin sister Lucy Benefiel and her husband Adam; Nieces, Layla Kay, Ruthie Jane, Logan Paige. He had one nephew, Reid Eric who was proud to carry his name. Also surviving are his uncles, Charles "Boze" McConnell Jr., wife Margaret, Paul McConnell, wife Young, Kent McConnell, Kurt Davis, wife Laurie; Aunts, Heather "Dee Dee" McConnell, husband Nadar, Keli Grigsby; Grandfather Charles "Bill" Davis, significant other Terri, Grandmother Nancy McConnell and several cousins. Eric also leaves behind his brother at heart Jordan Jacobs and his wife Erica with their two children, Carter and Charlie. Sister at heart Kayte Blackmon and her husband Chad with their two children, Audrey and Evelyn. He also leaves behind his one true love, Mackenzie Williams. He never thought he would ever find "the one" but he did with her. Eric had too many friends to be able to mention them all, but the special ones that were always in his life were Tierany Holland, Tanner Owens, Mason Hutchins, Jeremy and Amber Crull, Nick Lloyd, Adam Wade and his beloved dog Juice. Eric was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles McConnell Sr.; grandmother, Irene Kotoki McConnell; Aunt, Ruth McConnell and his great aunt, Lucille Kotoki. Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013 with burial at St. Mary's Cemetery, Anderson. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday at the funeral home. We ask that everyone dress in a way that best represents Eric. Anything from 'Merica attire' to shorts and tank tops to skater shoes and a T-shirt. Memorial contributions in Eric's name can be made to Madison County Biker Died Here through Woodforest Bank or given directly to Eric's mom Amy and she will ensure it gets deposited.
