To the Family of Estelle "Cookie" Devers Branden,
I just recently learned of Cookie´s passing, and though time has moved forward, the impact she had on my life remains as vivid and powerful as ever.
I met Cookie through her cousin in the late 1990s, and from our first encounter, she radiated warmth, laughter, and a rare depth of kindness. I remember our last lunch together at Honey Kettle in Culver City-she danced on the patio with such joy and grace, even as she shared news of her cancer's return. In that moment, she embodied the spirit of someone who had truly embraced life.
She told me, "If this is the mark of an incredible life, then I accept it." That stayed with me. Cookie´s strength, humor, and unwavering heart made her unforgettable. I adored everything about her.
Though I did not know all of you personally, I wanted to share how much she meant to me and how deeply her legacy continues to inspire love and light in those she touched.
With warmth and remembrance, M. Elaine Coutain

Ms. Estelle was such a sweet woman. She could start a conversation with anyone & leave them feeling warm & fuzzy inside. She had a way of making you feel comfortable to about anything without fear of being judged or ridiculed, in addition to genuinely caring about what you´re going through & giving the best advice. She loved dancing and going out to eat. Her aura was so vibrant, nothing about her personality was dull! It was always laughs & smiles when I´d see her & even on the days she was in pain, she never let that affect her mood or how she´d treated the people around her. I will never forget her & i will forever be grateful for the time i got to spend with her & Gigi.
