Ethel Fay Phalen Moses, 71, of Thurman, Ohio passed away April 9th, 2017. She was born April 2nd, 1946 the daughter of the late Merle and Midge Phalen of Bancroft, WV. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Saunders, and a brother Merle F. Phalen; and in-laws, Clyde and Iris Moses.



Ethel was a 1964 graduate of Poca High School where she was a member of the marching band and played softball. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She was a Christian that liked to share her faith with many, and was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church, Bancroft.



She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Douglas Moses Sr., of Thurman, Ohio; sons and daughter-in-laws, Douglas and Michelle Moses of Covington, Va., and Michael and Carolyn Moses of Lore City, OH.; granddaughters, Kelsey Brooke, and Sara Grace Moses of Covington, VA.; brother, Larry (Naomi) Phalen of Concord, NC; sisters, Carolyn McGrew of Winston Salem, NC; twin sister, Bertha Phalen of Bancroft, WV; sisters, Nena Phalen of Dunbar, WV, Tena (Charles Lynch) Dye of Charleston, WV; brother-in-law, Clyde Moses of Kenova, WV; sister in laws, Glenda (Arden) Perry, and Barbara Booth. Also surviving are 15 Nieces and 8 nephews and several cousins special friends and neighbors.



Graveside service will be noon Wednesday, April 12th, 2017 at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes, WV 25313 with Pastor Jeff Arthur officiating, and Pastor Hollis Walter giving the Eulogy. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 11am, Wednesday at the funeral home.
