Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 21, 2025.
Evelyn Maxine Nethery (née Albert), age 93, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025, in Citrus Heights, California, surrounded by loved ones.

Born on January 12, 1932, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Evelyn lived a full and vibrant life marked by deep devotion to her family and a love for the simple joys of life. She married the love of her life, Rodney Morris Nethery, Sr., and together they built a strong and loving home. They raised three children and were later blessed with six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Evelyn is lovingly remembered by her daughter Susan (Mike) West; her son Rodney (Lisa) Nethery, Jr.; her grandchildren Brock (Lindsay) Nethery, Michelle (Jose) Waters, Serena (Stephanie) Nethery, Annette Waters, and Matthew (Angela) West; her great-grandchildren Brock II, Dominic, Gabe, Joseph, Lennox, Weston, Damian (Karina), Jose III, Caleb, Lexi, Aubrey, and Aliyah; and her great-great-grandchildren Isaiah, Maverick, and Braxton.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Rodney Sr., her daughter Karen Lynn Waters, and her grandson Michael Alan West Jr.

Throughout their years together, Evelyn and Rodney formed many cherished friendships that grew into lifelong bonds-friends who became family. Evelyn had a zest for life that shone through in everything she did. She found joy in camping trips under the stars, peaceful days spent fishing by the water's edge, traveling to new places with loved ones by her side, and embracing every adventure that came her way. Her love for country music filled many happy moments at home or on the road. She also had a special place in her heart for her fur babies who brought comfort and companionship over the years.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Evelyn's honor to the Alzheimer's Association.

Evelyn's legacy lives on through the generations of family she nurtured with love and care. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
