Everett Noakes Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 25, 2025.
Everett Noakes Jr., 85, passed away on April 2, 2025, in Orofino, Idaho. Born on January 1, 1940, in Wenatchee, Washington, Everett's life was one of purpose, craftsmanship, and a profound connection to the land.

A master carpenter by trade and by calling, Everett shaped timber with both precision and soul. His enduring creations stand not only as structures but as silent tributes to his artistry. His passion for Morgan horses led him to establish Noakes Morgans, where he nurtured proud bloodlines that continue to flourish.

Everett's devotion extended beyond his homestead. As a member of the sheriff's posse, he upheld community traditions with quiet strength. The call of the wilderness was ever-present-he rode in rodeos, hunted and fished Idaho's backcountry, often in the company of a loyal dog. His skill as a gunsmith mirrored his respect for heritage and detail.

In words as well as deeds, Everett made his mark. As an editorial writer, he gave voice to his convictions and unwavering faith-values that guided every season of his life.

He is remembered with love by his children: Tony, Tina, Julie, Cindy, and Chris; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and his sisters Barbra and Carol Ann. He now joins in rest his beloved wife Lorraine; daughter Jenny; brother Roger Noakes; father Everett Sr.; mother Elsie May; and many dear friends.

Everett's spirit lives on-in the hoofbeats of Morgan horses bearing the Noakes name, in timber shaped by steady hands, and in words that still echo with purpose. May those who knew him find comfort in memory and inspiration along the trail he now rides beyond.
