F. MacLeod Obituary

MAC LEOD F. Gerald Gerry MacLeod Big Brothers and Big Sisters volunteer, 69 F. Gerald Gerry MacLeod, 69, of Sea Girt passed away Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007, in Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, after battling cancer for 18 months. The funeral services are Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, at 8:45 a.m. from the OBrien Funeral Home, Hwy. 35 at New Bedford Road, Wall, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Marks R.C. Church, Sea Girt. Visitation is on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Entombment is at St. Catherines Cemetery, Sea Girt. Born in Orange, Mr. MacLeod lived in Montclair before moving to Sea Girt in 1974. Since being a Sea Girt resident, he was a communicant of St. Marks Church, Sea Girt, and had been active in local politics. He was also a volunteer with the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Monmouth County. Mr. MacLeod had been a selfemployed sales professional his entire working career. He was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Catherine Margaret MacLeod (nee Baird), in March 2006. He is survived by his devoted sons, Gerald C. and his wife, Gina, of Middletown and Colin D. MacLeod of Sea Girt; his two granddaughters, Kate and Corinne MacLeod; his sister, Jarrett Peper of Las Vegas, Nev.; his niece, Kim Loizzi and her husband, Nicholas, of Wantage, and his grand-nieces and nephews, Danielle, Nicholas and Brian Loizzi. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Monmouth County, 174 Main St., Eatontown, N.J. 07724.
