Born to Kam Yuen and Lan Fong Chan in Hong Kong on September 28, 1935, Fanny Wai Chun Yuen was the third of nine siblings. Being in a big family meant the world to her as Fanny was always very caring and attentive to the needs of her sisters and brothers. In the late 1950’s, Fanny married Tsit Kwan Yu and gave birth to two beautiful daughters. Later in her life as a widow with two children, Fanny immigrated her family to Los Angeles where she would remain until her death. She was a strong and spirited Mother who would do anything for her children.
Everywhere she went, Fanny was beloved. She enjoyed a successful 20 year career as a banker where her co-workers affectionately nicknamed her “Mother” due to her nurturing personality. In her retirement, she utilized her compassion and sincerity by devoting her time as a dedicated volunteer worker for Hsi Lai Temple, the place she found solace as she studied Humanistic Buddhism. We join together today to celebrate the long and prosperous life of Fanny Wai Chun Yuen, a woman who will never be forgotten and will truly be missed.
