Florence Elizabeth Lawson Former Resident of Livermore A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Florence Elizabeth Lawson, 76, who passed away peacefully on Monday, October 20, 2008 at her residence in Lafayette. Reverend Twanda Amos, Chaplain for Journey Hospice, will conduct the funeral services. Survivors include two daughters, Juanita Lawson Picou and her husband Rudolph Paul of Lafayette and Nancy Jo Bedeger of Cameron Park, CA; one son, Virgil Kenneth Lawson and his wife Susan of Ripon, CA; four grandchildren, Karrie Lynn McCoy and her husband Todd Kendall of Baton Rouge, Kenneth Edward Lawson of Ripon, CA, Laura Ashley Picou of Baton Rouge and Alicia Ann Picou of Baton Rouge; one great grandchild, Madeline Grace McCoy; one brother, Ralph Barton Miller and his wife Dorothy of Rancho Cucamonga, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver Frank and Ottie Lee Jacks Miller of Smithville, Missouri. A native of Kansas City, MO and a resident of Livermore, CA and Lafayette, LA, Florence Lawson worked for AT&T for thirty years before she retired. She enjoyed painting, genealogy, sewing, reading and traveling. Florence Lawson was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be dearly missed by all. The family requests that visitation be observed at Martin & Castille Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mrs. Lawson's name to Journey Hospice, 101 La Rue France, Suite 406, Lafayette, LA 70508, or the Alzheimer's Association, 107 Global Circle, Suite 203, Lafayette, LA 70503.
