Francesco AUDIA Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province from Nov. 1 to Nov. 3, 2017.
AUDIA, Francesco Saverio ("Sharky")
September 21, 1961 – October 27, 2017
With heavy hearts we announce Frank's peaceful passing after a long courageous battle with cancer on October 27, 2017. In our sadness we know he's not alone as he's now united with his father, uncles , dear aunts and friends. The gathering will be quite a party up there. He leaves behind his beautiful daughter "Sofia" his little squirt, mother Serafina, brother Sal (Charlotte), sister Antonietta (Steve) and niece Elysia. He also leaves behind Wan and mother to Sofia, Rachel. Please know Frank admired your strength and love for him. Frank appreciated the many visits from close friends, aunts and uncles, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law and his nephews and nieces. A special thank you to all the doctors and nurses in the Palliative Ward at VGH that gave Frank such care with compassion, you are truly special care workers. Viewing at Bell Chapel 4276 Hastings, Burnaby, BC, on Friday, November 3 from 6-9 p.m. A catholic mass to celebrate Frank's life will follow on Saturday, November 4 at 11:00 a.m. at St Francis of Assisi Parish, 2025 Napier Street, Vancouver BC. Burial to follow at Ocean view Burial Park 4000 Imperial St. Bby, BC at 1:45 p.m. We welcome family and friends to a reception at 4 p.m. at La Perla Ballroom 810 Quayside Dr., New Westminster, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to "The Michael Cuccione Foundation" a childhood cancer research foundation.

My heartfelt condolences to the Audia family. Praying for strength and peace in this most difficult time. I had not seen Frank in many years. He was a huge part of my adolescence. Fond memories of fly fishing, hanging out and many many laughs! RIP my friend, you will be missed.

You are not absent
I can hear you.
My memories of our adventures
Will last forever.
I will not say goodbye...rather,
I salute you.
One good day we will meet again.
Be in peace until then,
For when I arrive things will change,
We will shake hands and we will
Be young again side by side.
Nick

I'm so saddened to hear of Frank's passing. When I first moved to Vancouver and met my cuggi, I knew right away that he was kind, gentle and very strong. I remember how his big smile lit up the whole room. I'm sorry for the pain you have to endure. I know your Zios, Zias and cuggis will always be there for you to lean on.

It's always a difficult time when you lose a loved one, especially so young, but he was one of a kind; caring, funny, and always smiling. I remember Frank from Templeton and more recently Giancarlo's Cafe. He walks with God now and is in good hands.

My most genuine blessings to the family. God bless you in your strength and warm memories of him.

The loss is very hard to the family and to many of his closes friends. A true East ender, never forgot where he came from. God bless you Sharky and thank you. Keep the camp fire on and the moose hanging. Wishing the family strength to sustain you during this difficult time and healing that soothes both mind and spirit.
