Lexington - The word synonymous with the name Frank Pino is family. Raised on West Cottage Street in Dorchester, Frank was one of seven children. Francis D. Pino was born July 15, 1946, in Dorchester, a son of the late Dominico and Domenica (Bonanno) Pino. His Sicilian immigrant parents raised their children guided by the belief that family came first. As a young man, Frank worked at his family grocery, Woodville Supermarket, in Roxbury. He also served in the United States Army during Vietnam. His service instilled in him values that he carried throughout his life - loyalty, perseverance, a calm, cool hand and head in time of distress, and habits such as reliable punctuality, and polishing his shoes every two weeks. He took a job with Dunkin' Donuts corporate, where he worked diligently for seven years before fulfilling his American dream and purchased his first of many Dunkin' franchises in Andover. Frank was incredibly loyal and generous, and as his company grew, several of his family members became part of its operations. Frank had a love affair with both automobiles and motorcycles. From ordinary to extravagant, his knowledge about each one was vast. He was easily able to remember years of his life relative to what car he or his brothers were driving at the time. He had an admirable work ethic and was dedicated to making life better for so many in his life. This extended beyond his career and permeated his home life too. When not carefully washing his cars by hand, he always had projects at home he tinkered with, and was a grill master who enjoyed preparing food for family and friends. Frank was a dedicated father who was always willing to drop what he was doing to help his children, and shepherd them through the many ups and downs of life. When Frank met Gina, he quickly became a beloved member of her family. They made a beautiful life together full of lively family gatherings, travel across the globe, and love. Frank later became a proud grandfather to five wonderful girls and relished his time with each of them. In the end, Frank was surrounded by loving family in the comfort of his home. After a courageous five-year battle with cancer, Frank died on Saturday, February 5, 2022, as loved ones sat close by, holding his hand, stroking his head, and telling their favorite stories about him. He was 75. He leaves his wife, Gina (Cinqueonce) Pino; his children, Jason T. Pino (Jessica) of Concord and Tonya Pino Taylor of Newton; step-children, Alexander J. Fetbroth of Encino, California and Jaclyn S. Porsia (Roberto) of Stoneham; his grandchildren, Meaghan E. Taylor, Ione J., Biba F. and Zumi J. Pino and Mia Porsia; siblings, Marie Falso (late Robert) of Stoughton and John Pino Sr (Janet) of Naples, FL and the late Anthony, Joseph, Emily and Rita Pino; mother of his children, Donna Pino; he is also survived by many nieces, nephews and very dear friends. Family and friends will honor and remember Frank's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, February 9th from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to Mass General Hospital, Development Fund, 125 Nashua Street, Suite 540, Boston, MA 02114 or www.massgeneral.org/cancer-center.

I have always considered Frank as my guardian angel ! You see I have spent my life working with teenagers and one day many , many years ago Frank came into my life . I had just started up a youth development program for young people ; mostly teenagers . Frank became my partner . He bought our first video cameras for young people interested in film making . He bought us a incredible enclosed trailer that we used for hiking trips , service trips and cross country experiences . He bought us a high end Mac computer so kids could learn graphic arts . Bought us back packs , canoes and tents so we could get young people into the outdoors . The list could go on and on . For 22 years Frank donated and donated to our programs -so young people could experience life in a very unique way . He listened intently to our wishes and then gave freely and asked that we made sure we helped kids who maybe were not lucky enough to have the right resources to follow their dreams . Frank funded fashion shows , lax scholarships , leadership trainings , youth employment , holiday gift drives for single parents and much more . His generosity helped hundreds and hundreds of kids attending our programs . He funded programs that are hard to raise money for Music , art , support for mental health , aspiring film makers and sound producers ! He loved our youth center and was so happy that we finally built our home after 22 years of fundraising! He was one cool cat . Always patience , intently listening and always giving . In our youth services world those who give the most are honored the most . Frank is so very honorable ! He gave way more then he took from this world . The world is a much better place because of Frank Pino. Frank is a power of example for all of us to follow . He lived with heart and humility and was always on the look out for the underdog . Much love and kindness to his family . Rest In Peace Frank and know we are all better because of you .
