Frank Frieri, age 84 of LaGrange Highlands, IL passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025 after a courageous battle with ALS.

Frank was born on April 18, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois the third child of five to the late Michael and Grace (Moreno) Frieri.

He graduated from Cathedral High School in Chicago, Illinois in 1959. He later moved to Lombard, Illinois in 1967 to raise his own five children with his first wife Sheila (Talbot) Frieri.

Frank was active in numerous organizations. When his sons were younger, he was a Boy Scout Troop Leader and did many activities with the troop including camping trips to Camp Freeland Leslie and as the boys got older canoeing trips to the Boundary Waters in Ely, Minnesota. He was also a coach for their baseball teams.

Frank was an avid golfer and bowler, participating in numerous leagues over the years. He really enjoyed golfing with his friends and especially liked when he got to golf with his daughter and sons.

Frank spent his career working for the United States Postal Service, starting out as a letter carrier in Chicago and working his way up to various supervisory/management levels at the Chicago Bulk Mail Center in Forest Park, IL. He retired in 2005 after more than 40 years with the postal service. He was active in the National Association of Postal Supervisors, and treasurer for the local National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

Frank was a devout Catholic. He was a Past Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus council 8365.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Michael and Grace (Moreno) Frieri, his sister Lucille Schefke, and daughter-in-law Lisa Frieri. He is survived by his second wife, Joyce (Keller) Frieri; the children of his first marriage, Catherine Scott (Randall), Patricia Frieri, Michael Frieri (Rose), Matthew Frieri, and Raymond Frieri; siblings, Michael Frieri (Gay), Angela Gilski (Ralph), and Angelo Frieri; brother-in-law, Rich Schefke; grandchildren, Anthony Bukowski, Nick Frieri, Anthony Frieri (Anna), Joe Frieri (Carissa), and Rachel Dobry (Shaun); great-grandchildren; Anna, William, Jacquelynn, Hailey, Caterina, Paisley, Ellie, Barrett, and Enea; dear uncle to his nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, August 11, 2025 at St. Alexander Catholic Church, 300 S. Cornell Ave., Villa Park IL. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 9:30 AM in the gathering space adjacent to the church.

Remembering Frank is easy he was one of the best managers /coworkers at the Chicago BMC. The last time I saw Frank was at his retirement party and he was still a pleasure. To his family my condolences. Frank get your well deserved rest. Shirley Noland
