Frank Richard Kurner

F. Richard "Dick" Kurner, age 88, of Ocala, Florida died on Monday, May 11, 2020. Born and raised in Bloomfield, New Jersey on May 28, 1931, Dick graduated from Bloomfield High School and Montclair State College. Dick married Anita DeGraw in 1961 and moved to Pompton Plains, NJ in 1972. Dick was a high school business education teacher at Morristown and Cedar Grove, NJ until his retirement, and shortly thereafter moved to Rainbow Springs and later Ocala, Florida.

Dick is survived by his loving family including his daughters, Susan Kurner Johnson and Amy Britton, son-in-law Frank Britton, grandsons Calvin and Miles Britton, Will and Sam Johnson, step-granddaughters Aren Woods and Larissa Genser, and many nieces and nephews and their families. Dick was preceded in death by his wife Anita, his parents Frank and Anna, sisters Ruth and Dorothy, and brother Raymond.

Dick will be remembered as a bright, shining light to his family, friends, neighbors and church family. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church Dunnellon in Dunnellon, Florida. Social distancing will be recognized.
