Frank M. Massimino of East Haven died peacefully July 29, 2017 in Yale New Haven Hospital-St. Raphael Campus. He is the husband of Josephine Torre Massimino. Father of Phyllis Verdoliva, Roseann (Joseph) Parisi, Frank (Dawn Meeker) Massimino, Jr. and Andrew (Gale) Massimino. Brother of Mary DeLucia, his twin Michael Massimino, Jr. and the late Tecla Maricondi. Grandfather of Nicole (Jill) Minervini, Anna Minervini (Danny) Arroyo, Joseph (Kelly), Michael and Christopher Parisi, Andrew Jr., Christopher and Matthew Massimino and great grandfather of Robert Casanova Jr., Giana Casanova and Alex Arroyo. Frank was born on the Isle of Capri, Italy on May 19, 1932 to the late Michael and Filomena Viva Massimino. He served his country with honor in the Army during the Korean War and then worked for the City of New Haven Board of Education for many years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Saint Andrew the Apostle Society and the First Independent Club. Frank was an avid New York Yankee fan and he enjoyed horseracing. He especially enjoyed fishing with his children and grandchildren. His family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at the VNA in Guilford, Verdi 3North and Advantus Shoreline Dialysis for the exceptional care they gave him. Visiting hours will be Tuesday evening from 4-7pm in the IOVANNE FUNERAL HOME, INC. 11 Wooster Pl. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning in St. Michael Church at 10:30am.
