Frank W. Perry of Summerton, SC and Bramwell, WV, passed away Monday, March 20, 2023, after a long illness. His faith and attitude in the face of adversity was a testimony all its own. Frank was born in Jonesboro, AK and spent most of his teen years in Wichita, KS. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam and also served on the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C. After his service, Frank went into the plumbing/heating/roofing/sheet metal business. He enjoyed spending time with family, being outdoors, fishing, and had a memorable sense of humor. He would also be the first to tell you that his grandchildren were one of his greatest joys.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Martin Frank and Marie Irene Perry, his siblings, as well as several dear family members. He is survived by his wife, Betty J. Perry, his daughters, Renee and Nicole (Chuck), his sons, Robert, Steven (Kim), Wain (Mary), grandsons, Brandon (Abbi), Gabe, Eli, Isaac, Grayson, Jacob (Faith), and granddaughter Megan (Matt), as well as great grandchildren Benson, Wyatt, Holland, and he was happily anticipating the birth of another great grandchild. He is also survived by a host of other close family members and friends whom he held dear.
A service to honor Frank will be held at 11 am on Friday, March 24 in the Chapel at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV with Pastors Greg Kinzer and C.T. Lilly officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park where friends and family will serve as pallbearers. The Mercer County Veteran’s Honor Guard will conduct military graveside rites. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 23 from 6pm to 8pm at Cravens-Shires.
Rocky Lee, Chuck Riffe, Brian Fritz, Jake Gibson, Gabe Riffe, Eli Riffe, and Isaac Riffe will serve as Pallbearers.
Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.cravens-shires.com. The Perry family would like to thank Duke University Medical Center, Princeton Community Hospital, Encompass Health of Princeton, Amedisys, and Bluefield Rescue Squad for their kind, compassionate care. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Perry family.
