Frank Whyte Obituary

Frank James Whyte III, age 50, of Myersville, passed away Monday, July 4, 2011 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 15, 1960 in Clarksburg, WV, a son of Frank James Whyte, Jr. of Wheeling, WV and the late Patricia Alig Whyte. He is survived by his loving wife, Marcia George Whyte, and his daughter, Victoria Paige Whyte.

Also surviving are two brothers, Doug Whyte of Bridgeport, WV, and Steve Whyte of Columbus, OH; one sister, Judy Alfred & husband Steve of Bridgeport, WV; his stepmother, Linda Whyte of Wheeling, WV; his half-brother, Larry Whyte of Pittsburgh, PA, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one brother, David E. "Rick" Whyte.

Frank was the owner of Training Services on Demand, a national corporate training organization. He held a commercial pilot license and glider license, and he was a certified flight instructor with instrument qualification. He had served as Vice President of Training at the AOPA's Air Safety Foundation, headquartered in Frederick, MD. In the early 1980's Frank was the Parkersburg Bureau Chief for WSAZ Television in Huntington, WV, and more recently was a weekend host on Key 103.1 radio in Frederick with his '70's Saturday Night show. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Wolfsville.

A memorial service will be held at Salem UMC at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victoria Paige Whyte Education Fund in care of My Bank! First United Bank & Trust, 209 Main St., Myersville, MD 21773, or at any branch office.
