Prescott Valley, AZ - Fred Christley, Sr. (Freddie Monroe Christley), age 93, passed away August 17, 2025.

Living in Prescott Valley the last 18 years, Fred was previously a long-time resident of Phoenix. He was born in Martinsville, Virginia.

After serving in the military, he was transferred from Syracuse, New York, to Phoenix by his employer, General Electric, subsequently Honeywell, working nearly three decades at Honeywell. He served as a Reserve Deputy of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and as a Sergeant for the State of Arizona Capitol Police. He worked for the State of Arizona Game and Fish Department for 18 years as Manager of Wildlife Communications before he retired. He continued to work at AZGFD as a contractor, after retirement, commuting daily from Prescott Valley to Phoenix, for several years.

He earned his Master's Degree in Management from St. Mary's College of California.

Fred found great joy in piloting small aircraft, taking his sons motorcycle riding, coaching his sons' sports teams, and volunteering his time to help others. He enjoyed tending to his beloved dogs, his gardens, working on jigsaw puzzles, sketching and drawing, cooking, neighborhood activities, and spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Peggy Jean Cutler.

He is survived by his wife, Patty Hansen; his four sons, Fred Jr. and his wife, Sue; Ken and his wife, Pamela; Jon and his wife, Tara; Mike and his wife, Stephanie; Patty's children, Larry Gass and his wife, Heidi; Kathy Anderson; Tom Gass and his wife, Sharon. He is a cherished Grandfather to Jason, Justin, Mark, and Nick Christley; Ryan Anderson, Jennifer Harrison, Kelly Bello, Charlie, Tim, and David Gass.

Fred Christley proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict, earning the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.

His life will be honored with military services on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 10:00 am, at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 2929 East Pinnacle Peak Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85024. All are invited to attend.
