Frederick "Fred" DeVoe

FREDERICK “FRED” DEVOEFrederick “Fred” DeVoe of Alexander, NY and formerly of Newfane, NY; husband of Mary Thiel DeVoe, entered into rest Friday, June 20, 2008 in Wyoming Health Care Facility. Born in Auburn, NY on February 17, 1918, he was the son of the late Henry and Lulu Harte DeVoe. Fred was a veteran of US Air Force, serving his country from 1942-1946. He worked for Simmons Saw and Steel of Lockport, NY for 40 years, retiring in 1980. He enjoyed farming and many happy times at his cottage on Lake Ontario. Fred was a kind an loving husband, father and grandfather who will be sorely missed by his family. He was the father of Bruce (Jacky) DeVoe of Conklin, NY and Gary (Sandra) DeVoe of Alexander, NY; grandfather of Joy (Jerrod) Trudell, Adam (Cheryl) DeVoe, Daniel, Chad and Sara DeVoe; great-grandfather of Emily Trudell; brother of Grace, Violet, Ruth and Mary Lou and several late brothers and sisters. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
