Garth was my mentor, and sadly, i never told him. I always took Garth's advise to heart and it never let me down. I run a successful business and always remember the honest words and advise he gave. Out of the many people I have met professionally and personally he truly was happy to see success. I will miss you Garth, you are truly one of the most genuine souls I have ever met. I still cannot believe you are gone.....

Garth and Lynn were friends and neighbors of mine on Lake Lanier, Beaver Trail in the 90s. I saw them each weekend when I would make and serve margaritas off my dock. Garth was always smiling and laughing with a bit of mischief mixed in, so full of life. He truly cared for people and if you asked him a serious question he would not give you some "off the top of his head" answer, he would think about it and give you a sincere answer or observation from the bottom of his heart. He had one liners that would make you think deeper than perhaps you had planned. One I've used many times over the years was "It's easy to write the check if the money is already in the bank".
Even though I have not seen Garth, Lynn and Kent in many, many years I have often thought about the three of them and hoped they were doing well and thriving. I was horrified and saddened to read of Garth's passing.

Dear Marilyn, Kent & Ms. Beverly, Siblings & Friends,
I have known Garth since we were five in Miss Cook's kindergarten class. He was a fine, fun child who was kind to me and could always make me laugh. He as you all know became a great man as well.
I want you to know that my heart is set toward us all in this tender and uncharted moment and I will pray for our comfort. Down the road let us be his legacy of hard work, play and generosity. Let us continue to love, love, love each other.
I am so thankful for having known him in my life. Thank you Ms. Beverly for moving to Stamford.
