Gary E. "Tadder" Wienen, 67, of Scales Mound, IL, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Mercy One in Dubuque, IA. A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, January 24, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Galena. Friends may call after 11 AM at the church until the time of the mass. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the Furlong Funeral Chapel in Galena, where a parish rosary will be recited at 3:30 PM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Gary was born on July 9, 1957, in Dubuque, the son of Francis and Marcella (Anger) Wienen. He graduated from Galena High School in the class of 1976 and married Mary Ann Foley on February 9, 1991, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Throughout his life, Gary worked various jobs and enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; two sisters, Carol Allendorf and Doris (Rick) Brandt; two brothers, Larry (Jean) and Kevin (Michelle) Wienen; two brothers-in-law, Bill (Roxanne) and Dennis (Goldie) Foley; a sister-in-law, Karen (Paul) Reynolds; his dog, Shadow; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father-in-law John and Rita Foley, two brothers-in-law, Kenny Allendorf and David Foley, and his pet, Katie. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Midwest Medical Center, Mercy One, Galena EMTs, and the Scales Mound Fire Department. Your support will always be remembered.
