Gary Soares of Palm Bay, Fl., formerly of Holliston, passed away on October 25, 2015 at age 48 following a brief illness. He was the son of Mary (Helpin) Soares and the late Sylvester Soares. In addition to his wife, Cheryl (Janet) Soares, he leaves his children; Gary, Christina and Sunni (Soares) Chauncey and her husband, Randy and their son, DJ. He is also survived by his siblings; Robert Soares, Jennifer (Soares) King and her husband, Brian. Gary also leaves his grandmother, Christina Helpin, as well as his aunt and uncle, Susan (Helpin) and Phil Ricciuti. He will also be missed by his niece, nephew and loving cousins. After a Memorial Mass at St. Marys Parish in Holliston at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 5; the family would like to invite friends and family to a reception at 12 p.m. at the St. Marys Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in Garys memory may be made to a charity of your choice.

I had no idea of Gary's passing until I was on Facebook trying to find him on there. I remember Gary fondly, as a childhood friend of mine and my siblings. Gary and Bob were our friends when their family and ours lived in the same apartment house back in the late 60's in Everett, MA. A little later in the 70's their family moved to Natick, MA and mine to Waterown, MA. But we all stayed in touch and still remained childhood friends.
Being the littlest girl in my family and at that, a shy one, I always had a secret crush on Gary, but he never knew that :-) So I know he's probably laughing in heaven about hearing that now, Lol.
After years of being childhood friends all that time, Mary and Sylvie had Jen to the mix where we all stayed friends, even after their move to Holliston, MA.
Then as many people do, we unfortunately all lost touch after a few years down the road. But I will never forget the Soares family, our childhood friends and the great memories we made together. You are missed Gary! Rest in peace! Sincerely, Evelyn Orlanzo

So very sorry to hear about Gary passing. He was a great friend of mine in high school. Such a nice person. I remember with fondness playing backgammon and listening to The Beatles with him in his room. Condolences to his family.

I just want Janet to know she is uplifted in Prayer. Along with all of the family. Gary was a kind man and always enjoyed him being my boss. He will never be forgotten.
