George Samuel "Sammy" Bounds

Siloam, Maryland — George Samuel "Sammy" Bounds, 82, died Monday, May 8, 2017, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.

He leaves his beloved wife of 60 years, Betty Lee Davis Bounds, his son, Rodney Samuel Bounds, and a daughter, Gay Elizabeth Bounds Wilgus, and her husband, Jeff Wilgus, of Selbyville, Delaware. He was predeceased by a son, Randall Kirk Bounds. Sam was a grandfather to Shaun Bounds of Ocean City, Colby Bounds, and his wife Jill, of Salisbury, Whitney and her husband Richard Jarvis, Jr., of Berlin, Taylor Bounds of Salisbury, Samantha Hommel, of Selbyville, Delaware, and Grace A. Bounds, of Tulsa, Oklahoma. His Great Grandchildren are Brayden Bounds, Jack Jarvis, Brooke Bounds, and Brynn Bounds. He was very attuned to the details and activities of the lives of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He loved hearing about their daily activities and sharing their "stories" with his friends and family.

He was the youngest son of Willie Edwin Bounds and Lillian Marie Bounds, who named him for his two grandfathers and called him by his given name, George Samuel. He was predeceased by a sister Juanita Jane Bounds and her husband William Cathell, a brother William H. Bounds, and his wife Myrtle Dennis Bounds, and a brother-in-law Ted Hobbs. He is survived by a brother-in-law, Kenney J. Moore, Jr. and his wife Evelyn, several nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

He was a lifelong resident of Siloam, Maryland. He worked as a farmer, truck driver, electrician and was self employed as an Electrical Contractor and had a Backhoe/Hauling business. Sam was a gifted musician and his bands played all over the Eastern Shore. He enjoyed Hunting, Racing, Boxing, Fishing, watching sports on TV, or just playing his guitar along with the radio or music videos, He was a member of the Improved Order of Red Men Lodge, Tony Tank Tribe #149 for 63 years.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at Siloam House of Fellowship, 26879 Campground Road, Eden, Maryland. A Fellowship Dinner will follow at the Red Men Lodge, 103 Clyde Avenue, Fruitland, Maryland.
