George BUBAS Obituary
January 29, 1934 – July 3, 2016
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather. Predeceased by his eleven brothers and sisters, George will be deeply missed by his wife Katica of 54 years, daughters Rosanne and Caroline, son Gregory (Teresa) and his granddaughters Jaya and Cristina. He is also survived by relatives in Canada, Croatia and Germany. Having emigrated from Yugoslavia in 1957, George was a hard worker having run his own business for over 45 years. A devoted family man, we will miss his stories, his quick wit and his great sense of humour. Prayers will be offered at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 15 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Croatian Church 3105 East 1st Avenue, Vancouver where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 16. Interment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted in memoriam to the BC Lung Association 2675 Oak Street Vancouver, BC V6H 2K2.

The world has lost a Great Man George Bubas his friendly way, big smile and many interesting stories will be in memory for me forever.He would bring down the mail to me from my mail box and hang about for a bit with a story then carry on his way knowing I had to get back to work as he did.A true gentleman and good soul in the rather short time i knew him by renting what i called Fort Knox the lower floor of the family building. He surely will be missed I was fortunate to have met George and your entire family. May Love, Peace and Great memories carry you all forward to a new way with him looking over you from above and beyond. God and Peace be with Him and all of You.

I didn't get to know George all that well, but I did have the chance to have a few very interesting conversations with him. I learned that his life was a lot deeper and more colorful than one might guess upon first meeting. George had a rich life; I wish he had written an autobiography, as it would have been a fascinating book to read!
Very glad to have got to know George Bubas as much as I did.
To the Bubas family: may God give you His peace as you mourn the loss of George.
