GEORGE FONAS Obituary
Age 69, of Greenfield, passed suddenly on Wednesday, December 10, 2014. Husband of Frances Louise Cancelliere; loving father of Lisa and Michael Fonas; beloved grandfather of Justin Mulcahy; brother of Carl "Mick" (Rhonda) Fonas, Kathleen (AI) Kaulakis, and the late Mary Lou Fonas. George is also survived by nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Friday, December 12, 2014, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the EDWARD P. KANAI FUNERAL HOME, 500 Greenfield Ave., Pgh., PA 15207. Funeral Blessing on Saturday at 2 p.m.

To the family of George Fonas you have my deepest sympathy on your loss. I saw George during the recent St.Rosalia class reunion and so thankful for our meeting. George myself and others were a group of good fellas who did together all sports, parties and whatever during our growing years. George was my friend and was there for me when I needed help. For all of this and the times we shared I am thankful. He will be and is sorely missed.
This is what I said back during his passing and it holds true today. George was always good to me among others and I have nothing but good memories of him. I remember you to Franny. I left Pittsburgh for Michigan but never forgot the friends I went to St. Rosalias with. Take care of yourself. Very Respectfully, Nick M Pavicic

Michael and Family,
I am saddened to hear of your sudden loss. I truly understand as I lost my father suddenly just 2 weeks ago today. It seems the only thing to ease the pain is to remember the great love we shared and to laugh when we are able about the memories we created, good and bad. Although we have not seen you at Primantis Southside for a long time, you are missed. Please know that we are thinking of you and your Family at this sad time.

I will hold the memories of growing up with George in my heart forever. Family reunions were special times for us and I have many fond memories of them -- and especially the silly things we did together. RIP George.
