I sat by George a couple times for church service, and one day, as they were doing announcements, he looked over at the Bible I was reading, and he said, "can I look at that"? I said sure! :) what a breath of fresh air to see a soul so hungry for God's Word!
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.(Acts 17:11)

I will be eternally grateful for the personal investment of Rev. G.R.French in my life. For many years, he was a spiritual mentor. Through the countless Bible studies in your home and in Miami, through his wise counsel, prayers and words of encouragement, his influence has molded and marked my life incredibly. Rev. French always challenged me to think, to seek God's best, to strive for excellence and no matter the circumstances, to always, "Keep looking up!" Thank you Ann, for sharing this giant of a man, your husband and heroic companion, with so many. His life, his legacy lives on in those who were guided by his counsel, inspired by his deep spirituality and touched by his caring friendship.
With Love,
Your neighbor and friend,

Dear Ann and family,
I prayed for his recovery. I have cried over your loss (our loss). I have so appreciated of recent times his and your neighborly bond with my family. Personally, Rod and I were both impacted in a way that continues today, from the teaching and conviction and passion of his during our college years. Our ministry over the years has been outreach oriented (striving to reach the unchurched/spiritually unresolved) that really has its roots from Pastor Bob French's teaching infulence and bus ministry experience. So the ripple effectof one life is beyond what we can imagine! I don't really have words to express condolence adequately. The pain of losing a friend and soul mate youve had for 50 years has got to be the worst! So glad you've got support from your children, family and church...may God's tender love be felt by you in the days ahead! xo Vangie Addison

I remember GR as a humble, down to earth lover of God, his family and people. I will always appreciate his kindness and the respect the he would always show to people that were different than himself, whether it was beliefs or cultural differences; he just loved people for who they were. To the entire French family; I send my deepest condolences. May God richly bless you.

I knew Bro. French as a dear friend of my mother and father, Keith and Esther Messner and her father, Rev. T.A. Robertson. I first met him at Stoneboro Camp where he was a great favorite. What a man of God. I held him in high esteem. Mrs. French my sincere condolences but it gives us even more resolve to meet him in heaven some day.

The French family has been special to the Virgil Mitchell family for decades. We were neighbors in the 1940s and Bob later pastored the Mitchell Memorial Church. So sorry to hear of Bob's passing. May your family feel God's presence and comfort in the days to come.

My prayers are with you, Ann, and your family during this difficult time of loss. An early memory of Bob was when he was SC District youth president in the Wesleyan Methodist Church and sponsored Jane Allison, Miriam Long, and me (all students at CWC) to spend the summer at Brainerd Indian School and work on the reservations in South Dakota after our sophomore year. I appreciate his godly influence on so many. He was faithful to God and his heritage.
