George "Kuch" Kuchak, 74, of Olyphant, formerly of Jessup, passed away unexpectedly Saturday evening at home in the presence of his wife, Carolyn "Cookie" Cavagnaro Kuchak.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Audrea Klapatch Kuchak, who died Aug. 12, 2008. He and Carolyn "Cookie" Kuchak were married for 10 years.

Born in Jessup, he was the son of the late George and Sophie Czhakowski Kuchak. He was a graduate of Jessup High School, class of 1965. He was a member of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Queen of Angels Parish, St. Michael's Church. He was also a 50-year member of Pipefitters and Plumbers Union, Local 524, Scranton.

He was a loving and devoted husband who placed everyone's needs before his own. He was always there for whatever his family needed. He looked forward to all the family get-togethers and holiday dinners. He was a good neighbor to everyone and a true gentleman. He was an avid dart player who always brought excitement to our dart games. We will miss him so very much and will never stop loving him.

Also surviving a son, Jeffrey and wife, Shannon, Nicholson; and granddaughter, Nadia and daughter, Beth Kuchak, Mayfield; other family members, Jeff and Barb Perri, Dunmore, and their children, Ashley and Courtney, of Dunmore; Lisa DuPay and fiancé, Ed Adams, Dunmore, and daughter, Nicole DuPay and companion, Kevin Yurechko, of Dunmore; John Ezerskis, Scott Twp., and Kaitlyn and Justin; and Becky Durkin and fiancé, Mike Pinero, Scranton; and Victoria Uher and great-grandchildren, Aleksey and Matthew Yurechko.

The funeral will be held Thursday with Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Michael's Church, Queen of Angels Parish, First Avenue, Jessup. Interment, St. John's Cemetery, Jessup. Anyone wishing to attend the funeral is asked to go directly to the church or the cemetery. Please be aware of CDC guidelines concerning masks and social distancing. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. For online condolences, go to funeral home website. George was a classmate of mine at Jessup High School, class of 1965. I was saddened to learn of his death and would like to extend my sincerest condolences to all members of his family. I will be mailing a memorial mass card to you today. Please look for it in the mail.

Kuch was a loyal,dedicated,and responsible Legion member. He was always ready to lend a hand when one was needed. Truly a good guy and a true patriot serving his country during Vietnam. His loyalty to his family and Church was unquestionably an example of how he lived his life. RIP

I considered George as a father figure as we help each other putting furniture together and loved helping him whatever George and Mom needed help with anything.George loved and adored his wife Cookie so much and would do anything for her. Loved all his grandchildren and family so much too and would do anything for his family.Me and Becky will miss you so much and will be in our hearts everyday. You will be deeply missed George
