Gerald John Lahrman

Gerald John Lahrman ("Gerry") - devoted husband, father of three boys and six grandchildren, and a friend to many - passed away at age 77 on October 20th, 2022 in Cary, NC.

Gerry was born on January 19th, 1945 in Cincinnati, OH to Frank and Marie Lahrman. He was a graduate of Roger Bacon High School, the University of Cincinnati (BS), and Indiana University (MBA). After completing his studies, Gerry served two years in the United States Marine Corps in Parris Island, SC, attaining the rank of lance corporal.

After military service, Gerry returned to Cincinnati and spent his career building a successful accounting and financial planning practice. He enjoyed golf, boating and investing in the stock market, but above all else he enjoyed spending time with his sons, coaching many of their sports teams and attending hundreds of their games over the years.

Gerry was known for his gentle nature and kind heart. Those who knew him best remember his sense of humor, his love of children and dogs, and his fondness for midafternoon naps.

Upon retirement, Gerry and his wife, Marsha, relocated to warmer weather and together they enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and spending time with their grandchildren.

Gerald is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marsha (Cronin) Lahrman, and sons Joel (Holly) Lahrman of Grand Rapids MI, Greg (Diana) Lahrman of Raleigh NC, and Brad (Irida) Lahrman of Wellesley MA. He was "Papa" to six grandchildren - Nico, Dilan, Juliet, Patrick, Oliver and Ben. Gerry is also survived by his sisters Ann (Norbert) Burwinkel and Judy (Al) Grote, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Frank (Anna).

A celebration of life mass will be held for Gerry on Saturday, April 15 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Veronica Church (4473 Mt. Carmel Tobasco Rd. Cincinnati OH 45244).

Immediately following the mass, there will be a luncheon at deSha's American Tavern (11320 Montgomery Rd. Cincinnati OH 45249). All are welcome to attend.

Gerry will rest easier if you can make sure to file your tax return before this Tax Day event, and please remember that Gerry will not be available to provide last minute tax advice this year!
