Ginger Russell O'Kelley

Keizer - Ginger O'Kelley was called Home on the Wings of Angels to be with her Lord & Savior in the early morning hours of April 28, 2018 while sleeping. She is Rejoicing from Above! She was 86 years old.

She was born on October 5, 1931 in Plainview, Texas to Marydell & Kenneth Duckworth. She moved from Plainview to Childress, TX when she was 3, where she lived until 1939. In 1939 she moved with her mother Mary & Step-Father, Boyd Russell, to Baldwin Park, CA where she finished High School. In 1952 she met and married the love of her life, Bob O'Kelley, a young sailor from Oregon stationed in Long Beach, CA. Bob left the Navy in 1955, but re-enlisted in 1957. Ginger and her girls became Navy Dependents following Bob wherever he was stationed. Those stations were Long Beach, Kansas, Michigan, the Philippines and finally San Diego where we retired 1972. After retirement they moved to Hermiston, OR where they lived until 1973 when they moved to Portland. In 2001 they moved to Salem to be closer to family.

Ginger is survived by her husband of 65 years,Bob & 3 daughters, Katie & Kim O'Kelley & Kendra Wooden (Danny), 5 Grandchildren, Joshua, Lance (Stacey) & Jessica Aikman (Josh), Bobby Wooden & Rachel Wolfe (Justin), and 10 Great Grandchildren, Nicholas, Chase (deceased) Chloe, Ty & Alyssa Aikman, Ryder & Braxton Frank & McKenzie & Jacob Wolfe & a new Aikman due in December.

Ginger was a wonderful Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend. She touched SO many lives and was truly a very Special Woman. Her Faith was strong and she was the epitomy of a good Christian Woman. She will be missed beyond measure.

Services will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Countryside Christian Church in Keizer @ 1:00pm, followed by a gathering at her home.

The Family asks that in lieu of flowers. Donations be made in Ginger's name to The National Foundation for Cancer Research.
