Giuliano Romanacci Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 13, 2023.
Giuliano Romanacci, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the age of 94 while surrounded by his loving family in Branford, CT. He was the dedicated and loving husband of 68 years to Anna Maria Romanacci.

Giuliano was born on March 23, 1929, in Livorno, Italy. He served in the Italian army before immigrating to the United States in 1957. He settled in East Haven, Connecticut, where he raised his family and became a proud U.S. citizen.

Giuliano was a tireless worker and a dedicated family man. He spent most of his career as a machinist and woodworker at Winchester Repeating Arms in New Haven. He was known for his charming personality, robust sense of humor, love of opera, Italian soccer, and especially good food. He was also an accomplished cook and loved to share his culinary delights with his family and friends. He could always be heard singing and, of course, enjoying his daily glass of wine.

Giuliano's proudest accomplishment was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and teaching them about Italian culture and traditions. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Giuliano is survived by his wife, Anna Maria; his children, Julie (Paul) Carbonella and Paolo (Alicia) Romanacci; his grandchildren, Paul Carbonella Jr., Olivia Romanacci, and Nicholas Romanacci; his sister, Mirella Rubano; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

A special thank you to nurse Paula and the entire staff of ARK-Branford Hills for their compassion and support during a very difficult time.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish (St Vincent DePaul), 80 Taylor Ave, East Haven.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Connecticut Foodshare in memory of Giuliano.
