Gordon Newman Obituary
1925 ~ 2012
Gordon passed away March 18, 2012 at his home in South Jordan, UT. He was born May 1, 1925 in Gunnison, UT to Manley Agustus Newman and Maggie Peterson Newman. He married Sammie Marie Jensen on May 29, 1948 in Manti, UT. They are the parents of six children. Gordon served in the Army during World War II. He worked as a Cement finisher for Carl Ohran.
Survived by his wife Marie, children; Manley (Virginia), Charlie (Joyce), Clark (Gail), Sheila, Garn (Judy) and James (Karol), 13 grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren. Sisters Renae Curtis, Marva Marks, sister-in-law Bernice Newman.
Preceded in death by parents, brother Lee Newman.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy (10600 S). Viewings will be held Thursday, March 22nd from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. prior to the services on Friday at the same location. Interment Gunnison Cemetery. To My Family,
I'm remembering the opinionated take charge kind of guy Gordon was. The time getting firewood, a tree was cut and fell across the bed of our truck. So Funny now. Him welcoming me to the all mens hunting club and the guys standing out in the cold to give me time a little time to get dressed in the mornings. I knew I had really made an impression with him then. All the time he took to support our kids in Rodeo events, ballet performances and every Birthday. Our experiences with loved ones stay on forever and help make us who we are. We are his legacy, keep that dear to your hearts and he will be with us when we need his strength and support. To my family, I send all my "Love". I see how lucky I am to be part of this crazy Newman clan.
