Grayland "Gray Baby" D. Kilgore, 60, went home to be with his heavenly father Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Claboirne Hughes Rehabilitation Center from complications of liver disease. In hospice care for three days prior to his death, Grayland died peacefully in his sleep.

He leaves behind two daughters, Tiffany Satterfield and husband Trent and Bethany Kilgore and significant other Lance Derry; granddaughters, Gracie Brooke, Kylee Beth, Evie Claire, Emery Kate and soon to arrive his treasured grandson, Landon Lee; sister, Velina DeVault, and husband Larry; sister, Alechia Buffalo; brother, Howard E. "Eddie" Kilgore, Jr. and wife, Sharon; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.

Born in Pennington Gap, Virginia, on January 12, 1956, he resided in Big Stone Gap, Virginia and attended Big Stone Gap Elementary School. Moving to Morristown Tennessee in 1961, Grayland attended Fairview Margaritte School and Morristown West High.
His life was filled with sports of every season. These were golf, softball, baseball, basketball, wrestling with West High. Football held a special place in his heart. He helped with stats of the team for over 30 years after graduating. He holds several pending records there to this day. His latest sport he enjoyed was fishing at the pond with his grandchildren, friends and nieces.

He was co- owner of Kilgore Plumbing with brother, Eddie until closing. He was a loved member of the community and Liberty Hill United Methodist Church until moving to Sevierville, Tennessee to live with his beloved sister and family until going home. He attended Chestnut Grove and Ebenezer United Methodist Churches and enjoyed singing in the choir when his health afforded him the opportunity. Grayland was a family man exemplifying love, charity and kindness in all of his works on this earth.

Please join us at a later date in May for special celebration of his life and the legacy he leaves behind. In other words, join us to say our last goodbyes to a wonderful man loved so much by his family and those close to him.
