Gregory Novis Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 2, 2024.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Gregory Michael Novis, 45, passed away on July 26, 2024. He was born to Michael and Diane Novis on July 1, 1979 and was a cherished member of a loving family throughout his life.

Greg was a proud graduate of both C.D. Hylton High School in Woodbridge, VA and Radford University in Radford, VA, where he appeared on the Dean's List numerous times.

An ardent supporter of his hometown sports teams, particularly the Washington Commanders and the Washington Nationals, Greg's fervor for the games was limitless. He was very competitive in his fantasy football leagues, since he rarely lost. He was an avid reader, media and pop culture expert, and Jeopardy! guru. His love of animals, especially his family's dogs, was known by all.

Greg was preceded in death by his mother Diane Pastuszak Novis, paternal grandparents Joseph and Mary Novis, and maternal grandparents Andrew and Sophia Pastuszak. He is lovingly remembered by his devoted family, including his parents Michael and Jeanne Novis, brothers Matthew Novis and Joseph (Lauren) Drugan, sister Kaelie (John) Uperti, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, furry nieces/nephews, and dear friends.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Triangle, VA on August 14 at 11:00 a.m. There will be a graveside service at St. Ann's Cemetery in Dallas, PA on August 16 at 11:00 a.m.

Greg's kind soul and endearing warmth will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be directed to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (theaftd.org) or The Lupus Foundation of America, causes that Greg held close to his heart. Please no flowers.
