Harold Bofshever, born on May 8, 1943, in Astoria, New York, passed away on January 14, 2025, at the age of 81.

Harold led a remarkable life marked by professional excellence and personal passions. He loved a great party, Italian food, travel, and boating. He had a passion for many hobbies including books, scuba diving, weightlifting, and gun collecting.

Harold was preceded in death by Flora Bofshever his beloved wife of 56 years; his father Albert Bofshever; his mother Miriam Bofshever; and his uncle Murray Shapiro.

I spent two summers in New York working at Hospitals during my medical school years at Tulane. Bof and I became close friends and I visited him three times after graduating from medical school. I miss him dearly and think of him often. I lived at his house with him during the summer of 1964.

I knew Harold a long time ago when I was a legal assistant in Florida. He was a very decent person, and I'm sorry to see he passed, although I'm glad to see he continued to live a good and happy life.

Harold (aka Boff) and I grew up in the 1950s on 80th Street in Jackson Heights, with lots of friends and lots of fun. We had great fun and adventures in the neighborhood and in NYC. Boff had the most elaborate model railroad setup of any of us, and was an avid photographer. His Dad, Al, was my dentist, and his mom, Miriam, was very close to my family before her untimely death. Rest well my friend .
