Published by Legacy Remembers on May 22, 2024.
Harold Eugene Royer, Jr., aged 68, of Fairfax, Virginia, departed from this world on November 27, 2023, at the Adler Center for Caring in Aldie, Virginia. He was surrounded by love as he peacefully transitioned from this life. He is survived by his three sons: Justin E. Royer, Adam L. Royer (Sarah Royer), and Brian M. Royer (Laurel Royer); as well as his three grandchildren: Rhys and Lila, the children of Adam and Sarah Royer, and Liam, the child of Brian and Laurel Royer. He is also survived by his brother Bruce M. Royer (Stephanie Royer) and nephew William.

Harold, affectionately known as Butch to friends and family, was born in Washington, D.C. on July 17, 1955, to Harold E. Royer, Sr., and Altha Marie French Royer. During his formative years, he resided in Arlington, Virginia, and graduated from Yorktown High School. Afterward, he devoted 17 years to serving the United States Postal Service in Washington, D.C., before transitioning into a career as a real estate agent. Butch spent his later years close to the game he loved, working at Oakmont Golf Center (formally, Oak Marr) until retiring in 2023.

A graveside service in his memory will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at National Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Adler Center for Caring, in Aldie, VA in recognition of their compassionate care during his final days.

The Royer family extends heartfelt thanks to all of our wonderful friends and family who have supported us through this difficult time. We also wish to extend our sincere gratitude to the dedicated and kind staff of the Adler Center for Caring and Fairfax Hospital.
