Harold Sachs

SACHS, Harold Harold Joseph Sachs was a beloved and admired father, surgeon, teacher and husband. Cared for with endless love and devotion by his wife Irma, who brought him his last great happiness before his illness. Predeceased by his beloved Merida, he raised his four sons with unmatched strength, love, and devotion. Known for his humility, generosity, intellect, and honesty, he taught his sons to be men. He loved family trips, useless gadgets, telling jokes and stories, and classical and jazz concerts. He played boogie piano, embraced fishing trips with his sons, and loved being a surgeon. Loved by his boys Joel (Olga), David (Megan), Adam (Margarita) and Matthew (Laurie), he lives on in his cherished grandchildren Anya, Sasha, Jordan, Merida, Benjamin and Lilly. A Funeral Service will be held at Congregation Beth Shalom, 151 Chapel St, on Monday, May 30th, 2011 at 1 P.M. Interment following at the Jewish Memorial Gardens, 2692 Bank St. Ottawa. Shiva to be observed at 53 Loch Isle Road from Monday to Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. The family wishes to thank the devoted nursing staff at Hillel Lodge.
