Hazel “Rooster” Ruth Edwards Owen, 80 of Burbank Drive in Lexington, passed away Tuesday January 17, 2023 at her home.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Friday at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with Preacher Michael Byrd officiating service. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Owen was born March 19, 1942 in Marion County West Virginia to Marion Author Edwards and Lydia Catherine Edwards Edwards. Hazel enjoyed gardening, cooking and shopping and was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Jerry Wayne Owen.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Lambeth (William) of Lexington and Sherry Sellers (Tim) of Lewisville; three brothers, Junior Edwards (Cricket) of Lexington, Kenneth Edwards of Southmont and Estill Edwards (Gail) of Lexington; three sisters, Faye Barns, Gloria Morrison (Jerry) and Elizabeth Byerly, all of Lexington; 6 grandchildren, Brad Carter, Robbie Britt (Kalen), Kasey Beam (Marty) Brook Lambeth, Jason Lambeth (Tiffany) and Jessica Sellers Dunn; 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Lewy Body Dementia 912 Killian Hill Street SW. Lilburn GA. 30047.

Aunt Hazel was a beautiful woman she love everybody. She always had a kind word to say she was so sweet so loving.I’m gonna miss you Aunt Hazel, but I will see you again.
