Spartanburg, SC- Heather Hare, beloved daughter, sister, mother and friend to all - passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 13, 2023.
Heather was born July 28, 1992 in Durham, NC by parents, Raymond and Julia Schaffer. She had a passion and love for music very early on in life. She enjoyed singing, playing piano, and later on in school, learned to play the flute. Heather also performed in high school chorus and musical theatre. She loved cheering on THE Ohio State Buckeyes with her family. Throughout her adult life she was dedicated and loving mother to her five children. She enjoyed spending a lot of her time with them, taking them to gymnastics, soccer, and spending time with them at the beach/pool/outdoors. Heather was such a hard worker and provided for her family in so many ways. Throughout the last two years she was dedicated to maintaining her sobriety and advocating/supporting peers in their battle with addiction as well as being a present and supportive mother, daughter, sister and friend.
In addition to her parents, Heather is survived by children, Joshua (JJ), Savannah, Kenzi and Aurora; sister, Emily (Blake) Tolliver; nephew & niece, Landon and Cassidy; aunt, Cynthia Davis; uncle; Steve (Patty) Locke; half-brothers, Stephen and Matthew Schaffer. Many cousins and friends, too many to mention but we know they were very important to her. She was also survived by her husband, Joshua Hare.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Livvy Hare; half-brother, Jeremy Schaffer; maternal grandparents, Charles & Marian Locke; paternal grandparents Raymond & Marie Schaffer and Uncle David Michael Davis.
A memorial celebration will be held at a later date in Ohio. Details will be announced at that time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sojourner Recovery in Ohio in honor of Heather

Me and Heather got to know and love one another quickly during her time in Spartanburg. She was an angel and I still can here her laugh when I close my eyes. We love you Heather and miss you dearly ♥

Ray, Julie, Emily, Blake, JJ, Savannah, Kenzi, Aurora, Josh and Cindy we are so sad to hear Heather passed. Things we will always remember about her are her beautiful piano playing, her angelic voice, her gorgeous eyes, her waiting on us at BJ’s and sharing stories with us, her love for her kids and her family, her feistiness and unfortunately her long struggles with a terrible disease. She will be missed
