Heather Holden Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 30, 2015.
Holden, Heather

Heather Rose Holden, age 55, died Saturday, June 20, 2015 at the House of the Dove Marshfield. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the North Ridge Church (1021 W McMillan St) in Marshfield. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:30 PM Tuesday June 30, 2015 at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 E. Veterans Parkway) in Marshfield and again from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the Church on Wednesday.

Heather was born on January 14, 1960, in Oakland, CA the daughter of Carol A. Judd. She was lovingly adopted at 6 days old by Dr. Donald H. and Vivian Z. Holden and raised in Portland, Oregon. She enjoyed playing high school and the North West tennis circuit until she graduated from Catlin Gabel High School in 1978.

Heather then moved to Tucson, Arizona with her friend where she worked and graduated from the University of Arizona in 1984 in the areas of interest of Sociology and Psychology. Prior to college and immediately afterward the real estate business kept providing her work opportunities. Real estate was a career that sustained and fulfilled her life and gave her meaning and satisfaction.

In 1992 through friends who moved to Marshfield from Tucson Heather met Daniel Frey. She fell in love and then also moved to Marshfield. Soon after the true love and joy in her life was the births of her two children Tess and Spencer Frey. Her children provided so much meaning, fun, and happiness to her and she loved being a mom. Heather was always so proud of them and with their activities: of school, 4-H, and sports.

Heather's family felt so blessed by being surrounded by good friends and their families: Ronnie and Bea, Tim and Kelly, Mark and Marilee, Joel and Karen, Terri and Dave, Joan and Dave, Julie and Brian, and co-workers from her real estate office. Heather and the children were lovingly cared and provided for by her soul mate Jeffrey Siltala, who was there solid for her in her life and the end in her battle with cancer.

Heather loved to play sports, especially tennis and racquetball, she enjoyed the fellowship from the friends as much as the exercise from the sport. She was also very involved in the community, and was on many boards: Main Street Board, Big Brothers Big Sisters (as well a a big Sister for 10 years), Apartment Association and past president, Rotary Winter Wonderland, YMCA Board, Central Wisconsin State Fair Board, and a Noon Rotarian and past president since 1994.

Heather loved life and lived every day to the fullest, every day was special and every day was a gift. Her children were always the priority and accompanied her to events and appointments, and she attended all of their activities and cheered them on to their awards, ribbons, and triumphs.

One of Heather's passions was travel and her family had the opportunity to travel with her. Together they traveled within the United States and out of the country. Her families favorite trips were to El Salvador and St. Lucia Mission Trips.

Survivors include her soul mate: Jeffrey Siltala; children; Tess and Spencer Frey; as well as her mother Carol Judd and brother, Mark Holden. She will truly be missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Dr. Donald and Vivian Holden.

Heather was a one of a kind person. She had a personality that could not be beat by anyone. She loved her Real Estate business and was the best teacher available. I quit the business after she passed. Her family was so lucky to have her by their side. There are many that will miss her for many years. RIP Heather.

I still think about Heather quite often. She was my Real Estate instructor for many years. She always made things make sense and easy. To her children, I want to assure you that she is in heaven watching all of us, and hoping we use the lessons she taught all of us. I try to keep as many smiles on my face as she did on hers. Love to Heather for all she did for everyone in her time.
